The Wera 8790 A Zyklop VDE Insulated Socket in 5.5mm is a specialist 1/4″ drive hexagon socket built for safe electrical work. The 5.5mm size is particularly useful for specific fastener standards found in European-manufactured electrical equipment and control gear, where this less common size can make all the difference. Like all sockets in this range, it is individually tested to IEC 60900 at 10,000 V and rated for approved working voltages up to 1,000 V. The two-component insulation design pairs a yellow inner core with an outer red VDE layer – visible colour contrast immediately alerts the user if the outer insulation is damaged, providing a critical safety check in live working conditions. A plastic sleeve is included to prevent surface marking during use.
