The Sealey TA092 is a rechargeable automotive paint thickness gauge designed for professional bodyshops and valeting bays that need accurate, reliable paint depth measurements. Using magnetic induction technology, the gauge delivers precise readings to 1µm across a range of 0-3000µm, making it suitable for use on both steel and aluminium panels. It can also detect the presence of metal putty, helping identify areas of previous bodywork repair that may not be immediately visible. The TA092 stores up to 10 groups of eight recordings and automatically calculates averages alongside minimum and maximum values, making it straightforward to document and compare readings across a panel or vehicle. Calibration is handled using the supplied iron and aluminium calibration panel along with seven calibration test plates. Powered by a 320mAh 3.7V lithium-ion battery, the gauge offers up to one month of standby time and recharges via the included USB to USB-C cable, keeping it ready for daily professional use without the need for disposable batteries.
